With a 4-1 victory over the Dallas Maverick, the Celtics successfully took the championship. In the post-game ceremony, Celtics star Jaylen Brown was honored as the Finals Most Valuable Player (FMVP) for his outstanding performance.
Throughout the series, Jaylen Brown contributed 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5 assists per game on 44% shooting. His all-around performance and key moments became a key factor in the Celtics' championship run.
Looking back to last offseason, Jaylen Brown agreed to a five-year, $304 million early contract extension with the Celtics, the largest in NBA history. At the time, there were a lot of skeptical voices about the contract and whether Brown could prove himself worthy of such a high salary. However, now he has answered the skepticism by not only helping the Celtics win the championship, but also by becoming the first player to win both the Eastern Conference Finals MVP and Finals MVP.
At the awards ceremony, Jaylen Brown said, "This is a team effort, and I'm very thankful for the support of my teammates and coaching staff. We worked together, we fought together, and this championship belongs to each and every one of us."
Jaylen Brown's stellar performance and accolades not only proved his superstar value, but also instilled confidence and motivation for the Celtics going forward. The team looks forward to continuing to be strong and compete for more honors in the coming seasons.
