Cao Rui, born on October 2, 1981 in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, received soccer training in Nanjing Gulou No.1 Middle School since his childhood, and step by step he grew up to become the main force of Jiangsu Provincial Team. This outstanding Jiangsu local player has always been closely connected with Jiangsu soccer from the time he played to the time he started his family.
Cao Rui started his career with Jiangsu Suntian in 2000. On March 30 of the same year, he made his debut as a front man in the First B League, playing for Qingdao Hailifeng. From 2000 to 2012, Cao Rui made 147 appearances for Jiangsu in his 12-year playing career, contributing 3 goals.
