The contract was renewed until 2026. This decision shows the club's trust and recognition of Baraja.

Ruben Baraja officially became Valencia's manager on February 14, 2023 . Under his leadership, the team has played 42 matches in all competitions with a record of 16 wins, 10 draws and 16 losses. Last season, Valencia finished a solid ninth in La Liga.

Not only has Baraja achieved good results in coaching, he is also a famous Valencia player. As a player, he played for the Bats from 2000 to 2010, during which time he won two La Liga titles, a UEFA Super Cup, a UEFA Cup and a Copa del Rey. His deep affection for Valencia was undoubtedly one of the main reasons why the club decided to extend his contract.
