Spanish media "Mundo Deportivo" recently wrote an article analyzing the Barcelona club this summer's reinforcements and transfer possibilities. The article pointed out that Barcelona's new season
reinforcement program
will be highly dependent on the club's financial situation and will have to sell players to free up funds for reinforcements.
Reports suggest that Barcelona need to sell one or more players to help rebuild the squad. The club plans to bring in a left back, a winger (ideally Nico Williams and Luis Diaz) and a midfielder (Kimmich preferred) to strengthen the defense. However, Barcelona are in no hurry to complete these by the end of the month. Frick and Deco's plan is to sell players before bringing in big names.
Barcelona have already had an income, with Betis completing the sale of Riad and the proceeds of the resale clause will be credited to the current year's finances. In addition, the transfer of Faye is underway and likely to materialize. Porto, for their part, are interested in Lopez but have not yet confirmed the €15 million price tag and are still considering the investment.
Despite having some of the revenue already, Barcelona still need more money to meet the reinforcement program. The club has drawn up a list of players who could leave, but at the same time insists that some players cannot be transferred and plans to let these players go on loan. Due to an injury to Dexter, Longley could have left if a move to Eindhoven was not possible, but he refused to play in Saudi Arabia and chose to keep waiting. Fathi is also reluctant to leave. Erick Garcia will stay in principle, Pablo Torre will only be loaned, and Araujo and Balai are not on the transfer list.
The most sought after player in the Barcelona squad in the market is Rafinha, followed by Ferran Torres, Christensen and Conde, all of whom are highly regarded in the Premier League. Romeu has a lower price tag due to his lack of appearances and hence his transfer fee will be on the lower side.
