Dumfries said that when he came to Inter he already had a feeling that the team could be successful. He said, "It's beautiful, when I came to Inter I already had this feeling. In the first year we wasted it, but now we have succeeded and the second star is fantastic. The celebrations were crazy for the club and for all of us. I'm very happy to have won the second star and it's especially special to be on the pitch in Milan."
He added: "All Inter fans wanted to win the title in that game. I think we had a great season and fully deserved the title. We are proud to have a second star sewn on our jersey."
Despite losing in the Champions League final, Dumfries remains confident about his team's future. He said, "We played well, but if City had won it would have meant they were more deserving. But that doesn't detract from the fantastic journey we have had to the final. We are men and must accept defeat. Inter are a great team and if we continue to work hard and grow, we will try to win the title again."
Dumfries is full of love for Inter Milan, but also expresses his desire for the Premier League: "Inter Milan is really a great club that I love. The fans and teammates are like family to me. I feel at home at Inter. We have been discussing my contract extension for a long time, but the club was in financial difficulties. Now it's well known that the club has changed ownership. But we'll see what happens during or after the Europa League."
He added: "It's no secret that I love playing in the Premier League, I love that league and my style of play suits English soccer. But to play at Inter Milan and win six trophies in three years is a gift from God."
Dumfries admits that despite his heated rivalry with Te'o on the field, there is no animosity in private: "He and I are always in heated battles, but that's normal in a derby. There are no problems between me and Te'o. Each of us defends the colors of his club. He loves AC Milan, I love Inter and it's always wonderful to confront him on the field because it's a real fight against him."
He added: "I don't have any animosity towards him, although I don't think we'll ever eat together. There's only a sporting rivalry between Te'o and I. We respect each other and that's what matters."
