In the second round of the Europa League group stage match played last night, Albania and Croatia shook hands 2-2. After the match, Albanian midfielder Lacic was interviewed by the media, sharing his thoughts on the match and his outlook for future matches.
Laci began by saying that although the team had a little bit of bad luck in the game, the Albanian players showed resilience throughout the game, "We had a little bit of bad luck, but we didn't give up the whole game. We put in a lot of effort and did our best." He mentioned that his team had the chance to end the suspense of the game in the first half as Albania had created two excellent chances to score but unfortunately could not capitalize on them, "That's the kind of soccer we love, it's always full of uncertainty."
On a personal note, Lacic is incredibly excited to be scoring goals at the Euros. As a first-time Europa League player, he admits it's an experience that's hard to describe, "I think it's a great thing to score in the Europa League. It's my first Euro and it's a great feeling." He believes that this valuable point scored against Croatia will instill more confidence in the team for the upcoming match against Spain.
Talking about the possibility of getting out of the group, Lacic showed calmness and strategic thinking. He believes that the team should pay close attention to the result of Spain's match against Italy as it will affect Albania's exit situation, "I think we should wait for the result of Spain's match against Italy." However, he emphasized that Albania will never give up easily no matter what the situation is, "We will do our best to play against Spain and I will see this game as a final."
