Spain striker Ayosé Pérez, who made his individual Euro debut, spoke to UEFA after Spain's Euro group stage win over Italy to share his feelings about the game and the experience of making his individual debut.

Ayose Perez began by expressing his admiration for the match, "From the bench and from the stands, you could deeply feel that this was a world-class match. The performance and quality of the players was breathtaking and it was truly a very good contest."

On the outcome of the match, he said, "This is the kind of soccer we love and I believe the match was a visual feast for all spectators. Although there was only one goal in the whole match, we won the game and showed a very high level of competitiveness."

Speaking about his experience of coming on as a substitute in the second half, Ayosé Pérez exclaimed, "To be honest, all I could think was 'this moment has finally come' and it's time to enjoy the joy of soccer. The years of dedication and hard work made this moment extra special. I told myself, 'I'm going to enjoy this moment!' And that's exactly what happened. I'm incredibly proud of my Euro debut!"

Regarding his future expectations, he confessed, "The truth is that there is still a lot of room for improvement in my performance, I had scoring chances during the game, but I'm already satisfied with the time I've been on the field. I hope there will be more opportunities to show myself in the future. It's too early to talk about whether we're favorites to win the title, though, even though we've played well in the first two games. We are moving in the right direction and all we need to do now is stay focused and keep working hard."
