According to German media outlet Sport1
Bayern
Munich midfielder
Kimmich
There are no plans to consider leaving the team at the moment and he has expressed his willingness to open a dialog with the club. Kimmich's contract is set to expire next summer, at which point he could opt to leave the club on a free agent, thus earning a significant signing bonus.
Currently, Kimmich is focused on the upcoming Europa League and has stated that he will not enter into any negotiations with Bayern during this period. Although it is conceivable within Bayern to sell Kimmich this summer in order to reduce the team's wage bill, Kimmich has expressed his willingness to engage in a dialog with the club's management. However, he is hoping for more positive signals from sporting directors Eberl and Freund.
Bayern's new management has a low opinion of the current players and has been discussing team rebuilding, which has caused doubts for players such as Kimmich. Although Kimmich failed to get public support from Bayern during the media fiasco, he still sees Munich as his second home, where all four of his children were born. As such, Kimmich has many reasons to support his stay in the team until at least 2025.
Ultimately, Kimmich's future is still up in the air, but for now he has no plans to leave the team this summer. If he decides to stay, Bayern will have to keep him for another year.
