After Ukraine's 2-1 comeback against Slovakia in the second round of the UEFA Europa League group stage, Ukraine's Zinchenko gave an interview to UEFA Europa League officials, sharing his insights on the match and his outlook for the next game.
Speaking about the game, Zinchenko emphasized the importance of learning from mistakes: "The lesson I've learned from top players is that when you make a mistake on the pitch, it's all about how you react afterwards. The mistake has happened and it belongs in the past. We are all human and we all make mistakes. But if you give up after a defeat, then you never have a chance to get back up and win." He went on to describe his team's resilience during the game, "Even after going 0-1 down, we were still on the pitch trying to press our opponents and that's exactly the spirit we showed in the second half. We kept trying to find a goal and never gave up even when we were down. When we play with this kind of attitude, I believe that our opponents will find it very difficult."
Looking ahead to the upcoming match against Belgium, Zinchenko expressed cautious optimism: "We expect it to be an extremely tough match. Belgium is one of the strongest teams in Europe and the world, and they have many world-class players. If we want to beat a team like that, if we want to break out of this group, we have to put on our best performance."
