After the team's CONCACAF group stage opener, head coach Jesse Marsch spoke to the
Argentina
expressed dissatisfaction and concern about the team's late arrival in the second half. He noted that the late arrival of the Argentine team could affect the fairness of the game, in particular by giving the opponents an extra advantage in terms of tactical adjustments.
"While they were waiting, I knew they were looking back at the video and analyzing how to respond to us." Jesse Marsh said. He added: "If we had been five minutes late we would have been fined and that would have been a big problem. Let's see what happens with Argentina, I think they have to be fined."
Marsh said he was not too sure about the exact time of Argentina's lateness, but he emphasized the seriousness and unfairness of the situation. He demonstrated his concern for the fairness of the game during the conference and hoped that CONCACAF would seriously consider the possibility of fines for tardiness.
The matter will be investigated by the South American Football Federation (SFA) and a decision will be made at a later date as to whether or not punitive measures will be taken against the Argentine team.
