In the second round of the group stage of the UEFA Europa League last night, the Czech Republic and Georgia shook hands with 1-1. After the match, Czech captain Sauček was interviewed by Eurocup officials, expressing his feelings and views on the match.
Sauchyk firstly confessed his team's disappointment with the result, as they had higher expectations for the match, hoping to win the game to accumulate more points in the group stage and lay the foundation for qualification. However, the reality was very different from their expectations.
Sauček mentioned that the Czechs created many chances to score in this match, but unfortunately they failed to convert all of these chances into goals. To make matters worse, they conceded a point from a penalty kick, which undoubtedly made it more difficult for them to get out of the tournament. Nevertheless, Sauček remains positive and believes that the Czechs still have a chance to break out of the group.
In addition, Sauček also noted the excellent performance of the Georgian goalkeeper, who was awarded as the best player of the match. According to Sauček, this is a reflection of the fact that the Czechs also played quite well in the match, but just lacked a little bit in the final score.
Looking ahead, Šoček said that the Czechs will be preparing for the final game of the group stage with all their might and they will meet the challenge with a determination to win. They know that they need to win their next match against Turkey to get out of the group. Sauček expects the match to be a feast for the fans of both teams and hopes that the Czechs can get three points in this match to get out of the group.
