Liverpool won their third consecutive league game with a crucial victory over Westham in the recently concluded thriller. If they can continue this momentum, they may even be able to put pressure on Tottenham Hotspur and hopefully lock up a spot in next season's European competitions.
In the match against Westham, Alexandre Arnault was placed in the center of the pitch by coach Gopp, and this tactical adjustment proved to be a "stroke of genius". Arnott not only scored himself, but also assisted Gapp, and his overall efficiency was extremely high. Unsurprisingly, he will once again play a key role in the center of midfield today, which will undoubtedly pose a challenge to Tottenham's interim leader Ryan Mason.
Gapp has scored two goals in his last three league games and I think he's been a bright spot for the Reds this season. Although he's taken some time to settle in, he clearly has all the attributes required of a top striker and has a bright future ahead of him. And he's full of confidence, so expect him to put Spurs' backline to the test.
Ryan Mason tried a three center back formation in the last match, but the Spurs defense was easily torn apart by Manchester United in the first half and they must improve before today's visit to Anfield Road. Fortunately for them, they showed resilience in the second half and did an excellent job to equalize and even have a chance to win the game.
Son Heung-min is slowly finding his confidence after scoring three goals in his last four games. I expect his partnership with Harry Carney to present a challenge to Liverpool's slightly weakened defense.
Although Tottenham boosted their morale in the second half against the Red Devils, the situation looks quite passive now as to whether they can qualify for European competitions.
I think there will be a lot of goals in this game and with Liverpool having home advantage, I expect the Reds to win in the end.
