recommendations and the issue of contractual disputes with the SEG Group.

De Vrij revealed in an interview that he received important contract management advice in 2019 during a conversation with teammate Romelu Lukaku. De Vrij recalled, "Lukaku asked me about my contract in a previous chat with me, he asked me if I had a signed contract and I said I didn't, then Lukaku asked, does your agent represent you? I said, of course. He then advised me to check my contract."

On Lukaku's advice, De Vrij examined his contract and found some problems with it. "I followed Lukaku's advice after that conversation in 2019 and my contract was then in the name of the SEG Group and the

signed, not me personally," De Vrij explained, "and then Lukaku spoke to me about the various risks that could be involved."

De Vrij further spoke about how the SEG group was very happy after signing with Inter as they will get a tenth of the commission from it. He said, "The people at SEG were very happy after I signed a contract with Inter because they will get a tenth of the commission, so it was really important for them that I signed with Inter."

The dispute between De Vrij and SEG has sparked widespread interest. While the exact legal details have yet to be fully disclosed, De Vrij's move was clearly inspired by Romelu Lukaku's to ensure his contractual rights are better protected.
