Starting the game and Havertz will probably be on the bench.
According to a report from Bild-Zeitung, Nagelsmann has recently been discussing with his assistant coaches how to maximize his effectiveness up front against Denmark. In the last three group games, Havertz has been the
starting forward
, while Phil Kruger often played as a substitute. However, Phil Kruger showed his goal-scoring efficiency and impact by scoring two goals in just 73 minutes of playing time.
While Havertz is technically and tactically better able to work with his teammates, he has been relatively ineffective at converting chances and scoring efficiently. In contrast, Phil Kruger's impact up front and ability to receive crosses is much more impressive, making him a strong contender for the starting job.
However, Nagelsmann did not rule out the possibility of both players playing at the same time, and may adjust the team's tactics to take full advantage of their strengths. In addition, Germany's sports director Voller also spoke highly of both Havertz and Felkrug, emphasizing the importance and contribution of each of them in the team.
Germany will face Denmark on June 30 at 3:00 a.m. BST, when Nagelsmann will announce his final starting lineup, which will determine Germany's further fate in the knockout stage.
This decision will be crucial for Germany as they look to further their success in the Europa League.
