Liverpool staged a stunning comeback in the Premier League match early Thursday morning. Despite trailing by a goal at one point, substitute Fabio Cavallo finished off a brilliant shot from inside the box in the last eight minutes of extra time to help his team shut out Newcastle 2-1 for a second consecutive win.

Liverpool thrashed Bournemouth 9-0 in their last match but had a tough challenge in this match at Anfield Road. Newcastle striker Alexander Ishaq capitalized on his £63 million price tag to break down Liverpool on his debut in the 38th minute of the first half.

On the changeover, Liverpool stepped up their attack and in the 61st minute, Roberto Firmino equalized with a brilliant shot that saw the Brazilian international score for the second consecutive game, bringing his career tally for the Reds to 101 goals.

After tying the game, Liverpool was demoralized and attacked with all their might but never managed to break through. Just when the whole world thought the game would end in a draw, Liverpool made it 2-1 in the last 8 minutes of extra time through a corner kick opportunity, finished by Fabio Cavallo.

The 20-year-old Portuguese midfielder joined Liverpool this summer for a £5million transfer fee and, despite mostly appearing as a substitute, has won rave reviews for his performances and has scored in two consecutive games, as has Firmino. Fabio Carvalho even became the youngest player in Liverpool's Premier League history to score the winning goal in extra time.

It is worth mentioning that Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, who did not score in the game but contributed two assists and was a key player in his team's victory, was officially voted as the best player.
