Arsenal showed unmatched fighting spirit in the Premier League in the early hours of Thursday (1). With a goal each from Brazilian stars Gabriel Jesse and Gabriel Martinelli, the team defeated Aston Villa 2-1 at home. With five wins in the Premier League so far this season, the team continues to stay at the top of the table and is well prepared for Sunday evening's challenge away to Manchester United.
At just 21 years of age, Gabriel Martinelli had an eye-catching game as he threatened frequently from the left and even had a threatening cross which was unfortunately met by Bukayo Saka at the far post with a shot that went over the crossbar.
However, Arsenal's offense did not stop there. In the 30th minute, Glesha fired a shot from a small angle on the left, and although it was blocked by Villa keeper Damian Martinez, Gabriel Jesse was quick to add to the tally.
In the second half, an unexpected goal happened. Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Rees came on for just one minute and his corner kick flew straight into the net. Arsenal conceded the goal carelessly, but quickly sealed the 2-1 win with a goal from Gabriel Martinelli.
A double goal by Gabriel Jesse and Gabriel Martinelli led to the official Player of the Match award going to Gabriel "Jesus" Jesse. He hit the target with three of his four shots, as well as a breakaway and three successful tries on goal.
Since moving to Arsenal from Manchester City this summer, Gabriel Jesus has scored three goals and contributed three assists in five Premier League games, creating a total of six goals, making him the most prolific goal scorer in Arsenal's history in his first five Premier League games.
