Portugal suffered a surprise defeat against Georgia in the Europa League group stage, but Portugal striker Neto said in a post-match interview that the loss would not affect the team's confidence.
Neto emphasized that the team remained committed to their task despite the fact that Portugal made several rotations in this match. He admitted that it was a tough game because Georgia defended very far back and showed a lot of threat on the counter-attack.
"Our overall performance in the group stage was good and we played very well in the first two games." Neto said, "Unfortunately, we lost this game, but we are confident for the next game."
Talking about the tactics of the game, Neto said that Portugal felt comfortable in the game and created some chances. However, the Georgian team also created threats, defending deep and scoring later on, which complicated the game.
Despite the loss, Neto believes that there are still positives for the team. He praised the team's efforts and said they are ready and confident for the next game.
"Everyone is trying to help, we are ready for the next game and we are confident." Neto concluded.
