There has been a flurry of opinion about the whereabouts of Manchester United star Cron. Despite his intention to leave the team, Manchester United is adamant that he will not be released. According to the British media, the club is planning a "compromise strategy": first extend Cron's contract, and then loan him out to a "UEFA team" so that he can continue to compete in this top-level tournament. After Manchester United qualify for the UEFA Europa League next season, Cron may willingly return to the Red Devils' camp.
However, the United coaching team is beginning to realize that it may not be wise to force Cron to stay. New manager Tannhäuser has already developed tactics in the warm-up matches that do not require Cron, and Cron's return could disrupt the current deployment and force the team to readjust its style of play.
In addition, there is a harmonious atmosphere in the United team during Cron's absence, which could be shattered once he returns.
Nonetheless, for commercial reasons, sponsors have asked United not to sell Cron, and few other top clubs are willing to sign the Portuguese international at a high price. According to the UK Mirror, United intend to extend Cron's contract to meet sponsors' expectations and loan him out to a team competing in the UEFA Europa League to help Cron realize his desire to compete.
As long as United qualify for the UEFA Europa League in the new season, Cron will be recalled next summer, when he should be fully committed to playing for United.
