In the early hours of Sunday morning (24th), France and the Netherlands shook hands after 90 minutes in the Women's Europa League Round of 8, with a 0-0 draw. In extra time, France won 1-0 thanks to a penalty kick by Pelisse, thus becoming the first team in history to reach the quarterfinals of the Women's EHF Cup, while last year's champions, the Netherlands Women's Soccer Team, unfortunately lost the chance to defend their title.

France dominated the match with 33 shots on goal, including a shot by Cascareno that even hit the post. In comparison, the Dutch women had only 9 shots on goal. Had it not been for the goalkeeper, Indusna, who saved three sure-fire goals, the Dutch would have been defeated.

In the first half of overtime, the French women's soccer team was awarded a 12-yard penalty kick, and despite Indusna's heroic performance, she was unable to stop Pelis from putting the penalty kick in, which was the only goal of the match. The French women's soccer team, which has finished in the last eight in the past three tournaments, finally made a breakthrough in this tournament, reaching the quarterfinals for the first time in history.

The final four of this year's Women's EHF Cup have been announced, with France's women facing off against Germany and hosts England's women battling it out with Sweden.
