Dutch soccer powerhouse Tannhäuser announced on Thursday (31) that former Manchester United star and legendary goalscorer Yunisdalai will replace Roger Schmidt as manager next season, with both sides signing contracts until 2025. Previously, it was widely speculated that the 45-year-old Yunisdalai would join the United coaching team this summer as Tan Hagar's deputy to take the helm of the team. However, an official statement from PSV broke the rumors.
As a first-time first-team head coach, Yunisdale expressed his feelings on the team's official website: "I am very excited, it has always been a dream of mine to become the head coach of Yanhofen. I have worked closely with General Manager Toon Gerbrands over the past few seasons and I believe I have the experience and ability to take on this role. Now is the right time to take the next step and I will lead PSV on a new journey this summer.
Since his retirement in 2012, Wennesdaler has been coaching the youth team of Yanhofen for three consecutive seasons. However, the youth team he coached has not performed well this season, losing 5 of their last 6 matches, and is currently ranked 11th in the Dutch Eredivisie. It is worth mentioning that Yunisdalai played for Eindhoven between 1998 and 2001, scoring 77 goals in 90 appearances, and has a deep affection for the team.
