As the night drew to a close on Wednesday (30th), the World Cup's outer rounds were rekindled, with seven teams successfully qualifying for the final round on the same night. As of now, a total of 27 teams have emerged ready to compete for the World Cup in Qatar. While five spots are still up for grabs, the seedings were revealed in the early hours of Saturday morning (2), with Portugal edging out Poland in the play-offs to grab the final seeding.

Portugal and Poland managed to qualify in the Europa League play-offs and the dust has settled on the five teams from the African zone. Twenty-seven of the 32 final round teams have now been confirmed, with the two teams from the North and Central American zones also being unveiled as qualifiers on Thursday (31st). Of the three remaining spots, one will come from Europe, with the battle between Scotland, Ukraine and Wales to be played out in June. The remaining two spots will come from cross-continental play-offs, one pitting Asia against South America and the other pitting North and Central America against Oceania.

Prior to the draw, the eight seeded teams were confirmed, with the exception of hosts Qatar, where the other seven teams will be decided in accordance with the world rankings. Portugal managed to secure the final seeding after advancing from the play-offs, with the remaining six seeded teams being Brazil, Belgium, France, Argentina, England and Spain. This year's World Cup will officially kick off on November 21st, with the final championship match on December 18th.
