According to the Daily Telegraph.
England
team leader
Southgate
Currently under pressure to resign, although he has yet to make an official announcement. The view is that if Southgate has decided to resign at the
European cup (e.g. soccer)
resignation after the end, then the decision should be proactively announced now.
Every game Southgate plays during the Euros could be his last with England. Although he has no intention of announcing his resignation during the tournament, he should reveal his thoughts to everyone. Some fans even threw plastic beer cups at him during England's recent match against Slovenia, showing how unpopular he is among some fans.
While it won't be as long a goodbye as it would be for Wenger or Klopp, Southgate has only about two weeks to make a decision, regardless of England's performance in the Euros. He has already admitted that he has become a problem in the eyes of many England fans. Although he has not had any serious clashes with the players or the national team, his management style seems to have worn thin.
Southgate's story is about to become a thing of the past, and regardless of his performance in the Euros, this could be the last time he leads England in a major tournament. It will be difficult for him to change the circumstances facing England now. Southgate had come close to resigning after the World Cup in Qatar and his contract with the English Football Association expires at the end of the year and there have been no discussions about extending it.
Southgate has previously stated that failing to win this Euro would be a failure for him. However, current performances suggest that it could be the swansong of his England coaching career.
