, and become one of the club's major shareholders. This marks the beginning of a new investment program by Red Bull in the Japanese soccer market.

The Red Bull Group, headquartered in Austria, is a globally recognized producer and marketer of energy drinks and owns a number of internationally renowned soccer clubs such as Red Bull Salzburg, Red Bull Leipzig and Red Bull Bragantino in the Brazilian league.

Under the plan, Red Bull will run Omiya Squirrels in partnership with current owner NTT Sports and gradually acquire a stake in the club. It is expected that Red Bull Group will own more than 50 percent of the shares by next year.

Founded in 1969, Omiya Squirrels are one of the clubs with a long history in Japanese soccer. They started to participate in the J2 League in 1999, and entered the J3 League for the first time this season and held on to the top of the table with a great performance. They are expected to return to the J2 League next season.

Although the Red Bull Group includes the company's name in the names of the teams it sponsors globally, future changes regarding team names may need to be approved by the J-League due to J-League rules that prohibit the names of sponsors from appearing in the names of club teams.

In addition to soccer, Red Bull Group also actively invests in extreme sports such as F1 racing, ski jumping and rock climbing, demonstrating its strength and influence in diversified investments in the sports industry.

The implementation of this acquisition plan will bring new growth opportunities for Omiya Squirrel and further consolidate Red Bull's position and influence in the global soccer market.
