On the Football's Greatest Generation podcast, Manchester United legend Nicky Butt gives insight into the trajectory of young starlet Alejandro Gancho and reveals the general mentality of Premier League players towards their careers.
Bart admits that despite the Premier League being hailed as the top league in the world, many top players choose to leave for Spanish giants Real Madrid or Barcelona during their careers. "The Premier League is undoubtedly the pinnacle of world soccer, but a fact that cannot be ignored is that all top players eventually bid farewell to the Premier League, especially to Real Madrid or Barcelona." Bart commented.
Bart went on to mention that numerous soccer superstars throughout history have chosen Spain's two giants for a new chapter in their careers after making their mark in the Premier League. "Look back at those soccer superstars and you'll see that few of them stayed rooted in the Premier League for a long time. They chose to leave when they felt they needed to move up to a higher level."
However, Bart also expressed his deep love for United and what he expects from his young players. "In many players' minds, the next tier means Real Madrid or Barcelona. But as a United man, I firmly believe there is no greater team than United. Our belief is that once you leave United, your career can go downhill."
Bhatt singled out talented French striker Kylian Mbappe as the man whose performances at Real Madrid will help him compete for the Ballon d'Or. "Look at Mbappe, he is expected to compete for the Ballon d'Or next year, thanks in large part to his performances at Real Madrid. A platform like Real Madrid really boosts a player's popularity and influence."
Speaking about Garnacho, Bart said: "Garnacho is doing well at Manchester United at the moment and he is a young Argentine player full of potential. If he keeps working hard, there is every possibility that he will join a big club like Real Madrid or Barcelona in the future. Players not only want to succeed on the pitch, but also in becoming superstars and enjoying wider attention and recognition."
