Gu Ying further elaborated, "Recently, the internet has been filled with rumors about the Jinmen Tigers increasing their capital and striving to be a part of the AFC Champions League, which may be an encouragement or a good wish for Tianjin's soccer. Other than that, I can't think of anything more apt.
Looking back at the 2023 Chinese Super League season, Tianjin Jinmen Tigers finished in eighth place with a record of 11 wins, 15 draws and four losses, accumulating 48 points.
