Wu Lei in the interview cleverly defused the questioning of the ability of individual single breakthrough goals. He humorously said: "From a professional point of view, most of my goals come from a single breakthrough. Privately, I flirt with my friends, even if it is not purely a single shot, whenever I kicked the goal, someone always laughed and said that it was 'a single shot did not go in'. But objectively speaking, there are not many real one-touch chances, and most of the goals I scored in the Chinese Super League, the national team, and other tournaments were accomplished through one-touch. Maybe it's easier for people to remember my mistakes, but ignore my successful goals."

Admittedly, the turnovers did get magnified, and in truth I scored far more goals than I conceded.

In fact, a shot percentage that is consistently above 50% is considered superior.

The seemingly high number of goals conceded due to the frequency of scoring chances is a reflection of my failure to make the most of those chances.
