The league is divided into two divisions and the Finnish Premier League. The Finnish Premier League is the more professional top tier of Finnish soccer and consists of 10 teams. The Finnish League A is the second tier and consists of 16 teams.

Finnish Premier League team:

1. HJK Helsinki: Founded in 1907, HJK Helsinki is one of the most famous and oldest clubs in Finnish soccer, having won 30 league championships.

2. FC Inter Turku: Founded in 1990, FC Inter Turku is one of the most powerful clubs in Finland, having won seven league titles.

3. Kuopio (KuPS Kuopio): Founded in 1923, Kuopio is one of the most successful clubs in the history of Finnish soccer, having won five league titles.

4. FC Lahti: Founded in 1996, FC Lahti is one of the younger clubs in Finnish football, having won the cup once.

5. FC Honka Espoo: Founded in 1957, this is one of the fastest promoted clubs in the history of the Finnish Football League.

6. FC Ilves Tampere: Founded in 1931 by a former Finnish international as well as the mayor, FC Ilves Tampere were runners-up in the league in 2018.

7. IFK Mariehamn: Founded in 1919, it is the only professional on the Finnish island, having won the league title in 2016.

8. FC Haka Valkeakoski: Founded in 1934, FC Haka Valkeakoski has won nine league titles and has a rich heritage in Finnish football.

9. AC Oulu: Founded in 2002, AC Oulu is one of the youngest professional clubs in Finland and has played an active role in improving the competitiveness of Finnish soccer.

10. SJK Seinajoki: Founded in 2007, SJK Seinajoki is one of the newer clubs with a high degree of professionalism in Finnish soccer, having won the league title in 2015.

Finals A team:

1. KPV Kokkola (KPV Kokkola): Founded in 1930, it was one of the clubs that Verdo experienced a brief spell in charge.

2. EIF Ekenas: Established in 1989, EIF Ekenas won the league title in 1995.

3. AC Kajaani: Founded in 2006, AC Kajaani is one of the relatively new clubs in Finnish soccer.

4. TPV Tampere: Founded in 1930, TPV Tampere won the league in 1978 but is currently in a slump.

5. VPS Vaasa: Founded in 1924, VPS Vaasa is one of the oldest clubs in Finnish soccer, having won the league title in 1992.

6. MYPA Myllykoski (MYPA Myllykoski): established in 1947 as one of the branches of Helsinki Helva, but dissolved in 2015 due to economic difficulties.

7. JIPPO Joensuu: Founded in 1996, this is one of the relatively young clubs in Finnish soccer.

8. PK-35 Vantaa (PK-35 Vantaa): Established in 1935, it won the league title in 2011.

9. MuSa Pori (MuSa Pori): founded in 1931, it is one of the relatively young clubs in Finnish soccer, but was dissolved in 2019.

In addition to all of the above Finnish soccer league teams, there are also many local league teams in various regions that will soon become the new generation of the Finnish soccer league.
