According to inside information, with the official endorsement of the Chinese Football Association (CFA), Shenzhen Football Club's foreign player Caldecott is actively promoting the naturalization procedure. If it goes well, he is expected to suit up for the national team in the upcoming Top 12 tournament.

Caldecott has played since July 21, 2016 for Chongqing. He will meet the conditions for naturalization on July 21, 2021, in accordance with the requirement for foreign players to have lived in China for five years.

The 12-team tournament will kick off on September 2, 2021, as per the schedule, and Caldecott is looking forward to the completion of the naturalization process to compete as a member of the national team.

In a previous interview, Caldecott confessed, "For me, the goal is clear, I'm currently a Shenzhen player and I'm determined to contribute my all to this city and this team. As for the issue of naturalization, it is not actually up to me to decide, but up to others."

Shenzhen Football Club also expressed support for naturalization: "If the national team needs Caldecott, the club will fully assist the CFA to complete the relevant procedures."

Born on January 12, 1989 in the Brazilian city of Panamansa, Caldecott was selected for the Brazilian national youth team and played as a main striker in the 2009 World Youth Championship, making seven appearances, scoring four goals and dishing out one assist to help his team win the runner-up spot.He joined the Chongqing team in 2016 and was transferred to the Shenzhen team this year. So far, he has scored 60 goals and 14 assists in the Chinese Super League, a remarkable efficiency.
