This innovative renovation will make Nanjing the first city to have a professional soccer stadium, where top soccer events such as the Chinese Super League and even the Asian Cup are expected to be held. Although the stadium was originally built to Olympic standards with first-class facilities, its 18,000-seat capacity limits its potential. Therefore, upgrading is a must.
It is reported that Nanjing Youth Olympic Sports Park already has 3 soccer training fields and 11 natural turf soccer training fields, providing unique conditions for renovation. By optimizing the layout of the stands and adding supporting service facilities, the renovated stadium will be revitalized to accommodate 50,000 spectators.
It is worth mentioning that the renovation project will also make temporary adjustments to the existing functional houses and lay a special tennis surface to form about 12,000 tennis final spectator seats and 8,000 semi-final spectator seats.
