On December 23rd, when the night was low, a bombshell news spread quickly in the Brazilian media circles - the legendary Oscar was about to return as a free agent to his once illustrious club São Paulo!

Uriel Iugt, a veteran media personality, disclosed on his social media that just a few hours ago, Oscar had intensive negotiations with São Paulo FC and finally shook hands on a contract until December 2027.

And according to Brazilian media outlet UOL, Oscar will not only return to the field, but will also revolutionize the season for São Paulo. Negotiations between the two sides have kicked off since the beginning of December, and the team's coach, Zubeldia, took it upon himself to have a 30-minute in-depth exchange with Oscar.

However, Oscar's path to a transfer has not been a smooth one. According to media personality Song Chengliang, Shanghai Seaport had thrown a contract extension worth US$3 million before tax at him, which seemed very tempting. However, Oscar suffered a psychological bottleneck as he felt the gap between the two contracts was too wide.

Looking back at Oscar's time at Shanghai Seaport, he has played 248 games for the team, scoring 77 goals and recording 141 assists, helping the team win three Chinese Super League titles (2018, 2023, 2024) as well as one Super Cup (2019), making him an indispensable centerpiece of the team.
