As we head into the weekend of November 2 at 15:30 in the afternoon, the 2024 Premier League season will come to its exciting conclusion. There will be eight exciting matches played simultaneously in Round 30.
According to CCTV's weekly program list, sports channel CCTV5 was scheduled to broadcast the final round of the Chinese Super League live in that time slot, although which game was not revealed.
But the turnaround came on Oct. 30, when CCTV's latest program update showed that CCTV5 surprisingly canceled the live broadcast of the final round of the Chinese Super League and instead aired the battle between Beijing Beiqi and Liaoning Donggang in the women's third round of the 2024/2025 Chinese Super League volleyball.
Meanwhile, CCTV5+ Sports Event Channel has not scheduled any live broadcasts of Chinese Super League matches. Currently, the lineup for the time slot includes the highlights of the 2024 China Open Women's Singles match replay, the highlights of the US Grand Prix of Figure Skating for the 2024/2025 season, and the summit clash between Real Madrid and Barcelona in the 11th round of the Spanish Primera Division for the 2024/2025 season.
Given that the final round of the Chinese Super League is a showdown for the final standings of the teams, at least five matches are in the spotlight, and all of them are clustered to start at the same time. This may have put CCTV Sports in a dilemma when it comes to live streaming choices, and in the end, they may decide to be fair to all the matches and choose not to broadcast any of them live.
