Barcelona have been making a lot of moves recently, targeting Premier League rivals Liverpool in an attempt to bring in Uruguayan shot-stopper Darwin Nunes. Barcelona reportedly made an offer of up to £39.7 million (HK$385 million), however the amount did not impress Liverpool, who decisively rejected the deal.

It is worth noting that Dawuniunis is not an ironclad starter at Liverpool, but he has been playing quite frequently. It has been revealed that Barcelona plan to sign the striker by June 2028 on more favorable terms.

Recall that in the summer of 2022, Dhauniunis moved from Benfica to Liverpool for a then staggering transfer fee of £64 million, or up to £85 million with all the floating clauses. Although Dhauniunis did not live up to expectations at Liverpool, he remained at the bottom of the goalscoring charts, thanks to Barcelona selling him for half the price.
