On Saturday morning, Aston Villa welcomed the challenge of Manchester City at home. City, known as the "Blue Moon", have been in a slump of form lately, suffering a defeat shortly after the start of the match and eventually losing three valuable points by a score of 1-2, losing six of their eight consecutive league matches, and swapping places with Villa, who climbed to fifth place, while City slipped to sixth.
City's defense seemed to have lost its usual sharpness and just half a minute into the game, Zuhanduran suffered a turnover and came close to a corner kick attack and a header from Bertholis. Luckily, City goalkeeper Steven Odiga was able to save the goal by pouncing on the danger before the white line.
But the good times didn't last long as City suffered another setback after 16 minutes. Zukhan Duran failed to make the break this time and the opposing player easily fired the ball into the net to make the score 1:0. City's attacking efforts were weak against a tight defense and the fallen Kialisch was booed by the fans. Only Phil Cotton attempted a shot on goal, but it failed to get past the tight defense of Villa goalkeeper Damian Martinez, and Villa ended the half with a one-goal lead.
The match resumed and City were still unable to turn the tide. In the 65th minute, Morgan Rogers headed the ball into the empty net after a pinpoint pass from John McGuinness to make the score 2-0, and City lost the match 1-2.
