As the Premier League is in full swing, Brixton have risen to prominence, with the veteran Webbick playing in the middle of the park. Recently, rumors have been swirling that the 34-year-old striker could be a January target for United, with even United legend David Sharpe publicly backing him. However, Verbeek himself has said that his mind is currently on every game at Bradenton and "I can't do anything" about the transfer rumors.

This season, Verbeek has started all 13 league games, contributing 6 goals and 2 assists. United have also been rumored to return in the January transfer window, with 90's United winger David Schaber commenting, "Verbeek is invaluable to United, he can fly around the pitch, take chances, get back to his peak form and is perfect for the pace of the Premier League." Next summer, Schaub predicted that Verbeek would be the best choice before United spent a fortune on a new striker.

Verbeek started out in the Manchester United youth team and after six years of honing his skills, he moved to Arsenal in 2014. Four years ago, he joined Bradenton and has been gradually improving his performances. Now has a one-and-a-half year deal with the club. Facing rumors of a return to Manchester United, Verbeek confessed, "It's just some speculation. As a member of Manchester United, I have a special bond with the team. All I can control is to focus on every game at Bradenton."
