Gaudio, the 53-year-old Spanish soccer wise man, has finally renewed his legacy for Manchester City FC. A flurry of reports in the British media confirmed that the "transfer authority" Romano had revealed that Gaudio had agreed to a one-year contract extension, reserving the right to extend it further in 2027. The decision, like a lynchpin, is a shot in the arm for Sunday's Premier League home game against Tottenham.

Godio's contract was due to expire next summer, and there has been never-ending speculation as to whether he will leave the club at the end of the season. There were even rumors that the Brazilian national team was interested in inviting him to take the helm. However, Godio himself clarified these rumors in time, and now that the dust has settled on the contract extension, the position of City's leader has finally been settled.

It is reported that City have never had any plans to change their leader and they are determined to keep Gaudio in the city. They are even willing to give him the power to decide his salary. Currently, Godio's annual salary has reached £20 million (about HK$198 million), which is deservedly the world's highest paid soccer coach. It is reasonable to believe that after the contract extension, Godio's salary will reach a new high. With City's recent setbacks, Gaudio's contract extension will undoubtedly be the key to boosting the team's morale.

Gaudio has been at the helm of Manchester City since the summer of 2016, helping the team win six Premier League titles, two EFL Cups, four EFL Cups, one UEFA Champions League title and one World Cup. His place at City is irreplaceable.
