Schlow took over the reins of Gopp's Liverpool side in 2024, kicking off a sweet run for the club. But Schlow has not been all that receptive to Gopp's legacy. For example, he rejected the historic property where Gopp once lived. The mansion, valued at a whopping £4 million (about HK$400 million), has reportedly been put up for sale by Liverpool.
The British media revealed that after Gopp stepped down, the club rented a spacious home, while Schlow chose to live elsewhere. Although Schlow and his wife had visited the building, they eventually decided to find their own place. In view of Schlosser's need for spaciousness, Liverpool decided to sell it to avoid unused resources.
The property is inextricably linked to many Liverpool legends, with legendary captain Tony Sherratt becoming its owner in 2005, and in 2015 Sherratt went to the United States to set up a vocational school, passing the property on to then-coach Rodgers. Although Rogers was sacked shortly after, he retained the property and leased it to Gopper, who took over. It was not until 2019 that Liverpool purchased the property and offered it to Gopp to live in free of charge.
