Chelsea signed the starlet for a whopping £28 million (HK$280 million) in June this year, and is expected to officially land in the Premier League when he turns 18 next summer.
In this match, Rafael Vega of Pomeranian scored three solo goals, but the media spotlight was on Estey and Welian. This is because they tied Nima's goal tally before the game, breaking a 15-year old record for goals scored by a Barclays U17 player. Nima, who played for Santos at the age of 17, had recorded the feat of scoring 16 Barclays Premier League goals.
Estey and Welian added goals and assists to their tally of 18 goals. With eight rounds of the Barclays Premier League still to be played, they are expected to continue to set new personal records.
This season, Estey and Welian have scored 10 goals in the Brazilian league, just one behind FALMINGO striker Berdugu Boots, and lead the team in assists with eight. They are expected to win the double honors of top scorer and top assists at the end of the season. And their joining next season will undoubtedly bring new vitality to Chelsea.
