Big Gut, a well-known referee who has served as a referee in the English Premier League for six years, has recently suffered a major change in his career due to the exposure of an allegedly insulting video of the famous manager Gopal and his alleged involvement in drugs. The British professional referee company (PGMOL) officially announced on Tuesday (9), in view of the serious violation of discipline, has been dismissed, 42-year-old Dagut retains the right to appeal.
In a statement, PGMOL said, "After an in-depth investigation, I have decided to terminate my contract with Daggett with immediate effect. His behavior is a serious violation of the contract. Nonetheless, PGMOL will defend Big Gut's legal rights and he has the right to appeal this dismissal decision." It is worth noting that Big Gutt had enforced Liverpool's 2-0 Premier League win over Aston Villa, his last Premier League enforcement match, a month before his dismissal.
Just last month, two videos involving Biggut circulated on the internet. Four years ago, Biggut insulted the Liverpool leader in a private setting with strong words. And an incident of suspected drug use of white powder in a hotel during Europa League enforcement this summer also came to light. In addition, Biggut's move to show a yellow card to a Leeds United player during enforcement in the Premier League five years ago sparked controversy and speculation.
