Liverpool's midfield lineup has long been making a name for itself in Europe, but Schlosson's ambitions go beyond that, as he is plotting further upgrades to his squad. It is reported that 22-year-old Spanish midfielder Niko Ganzaris, from Central Porto, will trigger a €60 million liquidated damages clause (about HK$480 million).
Following Subiwendi's unsuccessful move to Real Sociedad, Liverpool have shown a strong interest in Nikolaos Tsaris and are stepping up their negotiations to finalize the transfer deal either in the winter of this season or in the summer of next season. Despite Porto's reluctance to negotiate with Liverpool, the liquidated damages clause in the player's contract was an insurmountable gap that Porto had no choice but to accept.
Once the deal is finalized, it will be a win-win situation for all three parties. Firstly, Liverpool will get their wish to bring in Nikolgan Sallis. Secondly, Porto acquired the player from Barcelona for €9 million last year and the sale will bring a handsome return. As for Nicoligosaris' former owner Barcelona, they will also get a 40% share of the second deal of this transfer, totaling €24 million, which is a happy ending for all.
