In the last round of the Premier League, Manchester United's central midfielder Monty suffered an unfortunate injury in the match against Manchester City and lasted only 13 minutes. United leader Ruben Emolian recently confirmed that the 25-year-old England international will be out of action for several weeks. Injuries have caused Monty to miss 37 games since he joined United a year and a half ago, almost half of the games he has played in four years.

Rubin Emolian, who promised to reuse Monte when he took over, looked helpless at the injury to his favorite: "Monte will be off for a few weeks and we will do everything we can to help him recover. A player suffering from injuries for a long period of time has to face a lot of challenges, and Monty has tried to find his way through the injuries."

Monty expressed his frustration in a social media post, "At this moment, our feelings cannot be expressed in words. Seeing the images of my injury, everyone should understand. Manchester United fans may not know me well, but I promise that I will never give up or lose confidence. I will do my best to get through this difficult period until I achieve my goal and I will never stop."

In July 2023, Monty moved from Chelsea to Manchester United for a £60 million (HK$590 million) transfer fee and wore the highly coveted "Legend No. 7" shirt. However, due to frequent injuries, he has missed 37 matches for United so far. Meanwhile, he played for Chelsea for 4 years and missed only 18 games due to injuries. Some netizens say that Monty has broken the "No. 7 curse", so if he wants to climb up the career ladder again, he might want to consider changing his shirt number.
