The Premier League was on fire, Liverpool were rock solid, and just in time for the Christmas festivities, my good friends from next door, Ewarton, pulled off a shocker. A 0-0 stalemate at home against Arsenal on Sunday (22nd) saw Liverpool's two biggest rivals drop points in quick succession. After the game, the Chelsea leader was full of praise for the Ewarton defense, which reaped the rewards of even a draw.

Despite Chelsea's dominance of the game, they were threatened by repeated counter-attacks in the second half against an impenetrable Ewarton defense, narrowly missing out on points in front of the Ewarton goal. In their last six league games, EWT have not conceded in five, making Arsenal and their opponents hate each other for two weeks in a row. Liverpool are grateful for that.

After the game, Maliska couldn't hide his joy: I'm very happy, happier than last week's win at Pennsylvania Ford. EWT is a tough nut to crack, and their ability to keep a clean sheet is among the top five in Europe. I'm very proud of the way the defense played today.
