Rafael da Silva, the Brazilian star who made the Red Devils Manchester United shine, finally chose to put down his boots after an illustrious 16-year career. The glory-ridden player helped Baoji Huaqiao win the Copa Libertadores and Barclays Premier League double this season, a perfect ending to the season.

Rafael da Silva, 34, who has been honing his skills at the Fominis youth camp since childhood, joined Manchester United in the summer of 2008 alongside his twin brother Fabio da Silva. During his time at United, Rafael da Silva scored just five goals in 170 matches, but lifted the Premier League trophy three times and was crowned world champion once.

In 2015, Rafael da Silva moved to Lyon in Ligue 1, briefly experiencing the flavor of Turkey's Başakşuşi, and in 2021, he returned to his homeland, joining Botania, and since then began the legendary journey of the "double champion". It is reported that he has been playing for Bautista for three years, and the team won both the Copa Libertadores and the Barclays Premier League.

Nonetheless, frequent injuries became too much for Rafael da Silva to bear and he eventually decided to end his career.
