In the opening half, Las Palmas dominated possession and played a more aggressive and proactive game. In the first half, Las Palmas had 76% of the ball, but they only had 4 shots on goal and failed to score. Celta also had only 4 shots on goal in the first half, and both sides failed to break the deadlock in the first half.
Into the second half, the game situation began to change. Celta finally took the lead in the 37th minute when Carles Perez assisted Celta's Aspas to score a goal. In the 39th minute, Aspas scored again with an assist from teammate Svedberg, giving Celta a 2-0 lead.
After that, Las Palmas tried to fight back, but in the 71st minute, Aspas assisted again to help Duvekas score a goal to give Celta a 3-0 lead. At this point, Aspas had three solo goals, including two goals and an assist.
Late in the game, in the 76th minute, Duvekas returned the favor and assisted Aspas for his second goal of the game to give Celta a commanding 4-0 lead.
Although Las Palmas scored a late goal from Juanma Elsog, it couldn't change the big picture and Celta ended up thrashing Las Palmas 4-1.
