The 14th round of the Spanish Primera Division was held at the Estadio de la Mestalla, with Valencia and Real Betis battling it out in a thrilling match. Valencia won this crucial three-point game with a 4-2 victory over their rivals thanks to their excellent offense.
Less than eight minutes into the match, Valencia seized the opportunity to take a 1-0 lead when Cesar Reckney deftly struck to knock home the winner. However, Real Betis made it 1-1 in the 14th minute through a defensive error, with Douro unlucky to put the ball into his own goal.
But Valencia did not fall into disarray. In the second half, they quickly adjusted their strategy and Douro scored again in the 49th minute to make it 2-1, followed by Douro, as if on cue, again taking advantage of a counter-attack in the 53rd minute to extend the lead to 3-1.
Diego Lopez's brilliant long-range shot in the 56th minute took Valencia's lead to three goals, 4-1, and although Real Betis scored a redeeming goal in the 66th minute from Luis Ávila, Valencia sealed a 4-2 victory.
