Soccer discussion makes waves again

On the Stick to Football podcast, Gary Neville was full of praise for Welbeck's current form. He stated that Welbeck has outperformed any striker in the United squad and firmly believes that United should not have let the attacker leave the club in the first place. Roy Keane, on the other hand, has taken a very different view and has refuted Neville's comments, arguing that if a player has excelled since leaving the club, it doesn't simply follow that he should have stayed in the team in the first place.

Neville was unrelenting in his arguments, firmly believing that if United were to assemble a luxury 24-man squad with the intention of retaining five or six strikers, then Welbeck would undoubtedly be an integral part of it. Keane, however, takes issue with this, emphasizing that players may have excellent careers after leaving United, but that doesn't mean they have the strength and quality to cope with United's intense competition.

The topic sparked a heated debate between the two former Manchester United stars, with each side arguing over the other.
