Manchester City captain Kyle Walker, an iron-clad warrior on the soccer pitch, was like a heavy bomb in his quest for a new chapter on the green field overseas, instantly setting off the soccer market in Europe and even the Middle East.

Guardiola's statement, like the light of dawn, revealed the desire within Walker. Clubs such as Milan, Riyadh Victory, Jeddah National and Jeddah United, among others, have flashed their banners in the hope of taking the experienced defender under their wings in a bid to take their place in a competitive field.

Walker, the soon-to-be 34-year-old, seems to have heralded his choice to follow in the footsteps of his former teammate, Mahrez, by stepping into the green of Saudi Arabia. At this age, high-paying contracts follow him around, but it will be interesting to see if he can cross the age barrier and continue to shine on the pitch.

It is worth noting that although Bayern Munich had extended an olive branch to Walker, they met with a polite refusal. However, Bayern have not given up and are re-evaluating Walker's strengths and experience and are considering offering him a short-term contract with a view to a career in the Champions League.
