Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, has recently had his heart set on young talent Nico Williams, the 22-year-old Athletic Bilbao striker, who has been targeted as the team's top attraction this winter.

Hidden in Williams' contract is a release clause worth £50 million, giving Arsenal the possibility of bringing him into the fold. But the question arises, would the youngster be willing to wave goodbye to his homeland this winter, or is there something else in store for him? Adding to that, his expectation of a salary, as high as £300,000 a week, is undoubtedly a considerable burden for Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Arsenal's sights did not stop there. Leipzig's young shot-stopper, Sheshko, was the first choice in Arteta's mind, but various changes last summer put the deal on hold. However, with Sterling and Saka both recovering from injuries, Arsenal's pursuit of Sheshko may have petered out a little.

Despite the difficulties, Arteta and his team management are relentlessly searching for the right opportunity to bring in the right reinforcements in order to make a splash in the new season.
