In the latest revelations from Mundo Deportivo, Aston Villa are plotting a transfer deal of up to 20 million euros, targeting Spanish defender Mingeza, who now plays for Celta. The negotiations have become increasingly tense, with contacts between the two sides escalating frequently in recent days.

However, the deal was not a smooth one. Barcelona, Mingheza's former owners, have veto power. According to the rules, Barcelona has the power to match any offer for Mingheza and owns half of the player's financial interest. This implies that the outcome of the deal could turn around once Barcelona intervene.

However, it has been observed that Barcelona seem to have no intention of stepping in. Although Minguessa's performances at Celta had tantalized Barcelona and even considered buying him back for €10 million, plans were eventually shelved due to financial pressures.

Meanwhile, Celta are open to a move for Mingheza, but also appear to be quite cautious. They are keen to extend the starlet's contract and intend to increase the release fee to €20 million to ensure that Mingeza's departure will bring a lucrative transfer fee. Celta and Barcelona have agreed on the distribution of the release fee, half of which will go to Barcelona.

Nevertheless, Celta are not willing to let Minguessa go for less than 20 million euros. In fact, they have already begun to prepare for Mingeza's possible departure by actively searching for a replacement to ensure the stability of the team's backline.
