In a recent interview, soccer legend Martin Keown revealed his insights into this season's Premier League title race. He pointed out that although Liverpool are currently at the top of the table, they will still face a series of tricky away matches in the future, making the road to the title a challenging one.
Keown said bluntly: "Liverpool's performance so far in the season is undoubtedly outstanding. However, they must be prepared for a series of tough away tests. As Arsenal experienced away at Brighton, the Seagulls spent huge sums of money on reinforcements last summer, and their home fighting power should not be underestimated."
He further elaborated, "Liverpool have a lot of momentum, but I was surprised by their performance at home to Manchester United and that game may have had an effect on their confidence. Nevertheless, they are still the favorites to win the title. But they still have 19 games ahead of them, including away games at Man City, Villa, and against tough teams like Bournemouth. Bournemouth have beaten Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, and their strength should not be underestimated."
In addition, Keown talked about Liverpool's only loss this season against Nottingham Forest. He emphasized, "Liverpool will meet Nottingham Forest again and this game will be an important test for them."
Talking about Liverpool's prospects of winning the title, Keown said, "Liverpool want to lock up the title before Arsenal have risen to the top. Although they are currently the favorites to win the title, Arsenal have suffered heavily due to Saka's injury, which makes the title situation more complicated and unpredictable."
