On January 5th, Brentford swept Southampton 5-0 in the 20th round of the English Premier League (EPL). After the match, Brentford manager Thomas Frank was full of praise for his team's performance in the press conference.
"This game was almost perfect for us." Frank exclaimed in the interview, "From the beginning to the end, we hardly gave Southampton any chances, the defense was solid and the offensive end was full of chances. Even though the score was 5-0, I think we were fully capable of playing more in."
"Southampton have been in a slump of form recently and we are winless away from home so far, but today's win is testament to our effort and team spirit." Frank added, "I'm very proud of the commitment, focus and attitude of the players, which have been key to the team's success."
Talking about how the team created threats, Frank mentioned the performances of attacking players such as Lewis Porter, Shade, Vissar and Mbewumo, especially Mbewumo who scored two solo goals. He also praised Damsco's ability to assist, saying that the team's offense was very threatening today.
"The tacit understanding between Mbeumo and Visa is impressive." Frank continued, "The understanding on the field stems not only from their good relationship on the field, but also from their deep friendship off the field. That bond was evident in today's goal, as the players appreciated each other, worked together and cared about each other. This team spirit is vital for us."
Finally, Frank shared a way to celebrate the victory, "Tonight, I will raise a glass of wine to celebrate this hard-earned victory. At the same time, I hope the team continues to maintain this excellent form and get ready for the next games."
